03/10/2013 -  Two years of our hard work reached the grand finale. Today, at 11:00 am, the representatives of the U.S. Department of Energy, the City of Irvine and the major sponsors cut the ribbon of the Solar Village. Starting today, the Solar Village is not only officially open to visitors, but also the competition begins! You can check out the scores of the Team Czech Republic and other 18 collegiate teams over the next eight days, and see who’s crowned the winner Oct. 12!

The day began with an all team photo on the east side of the Solar Village, just next to AIR House! An opening ceremony followed in Hangar 244, where the representatives of top-level sponsors Bosch, Cisco, Edison International, Schneider Electric, and Wells Fargo, as well as City of Irvine Mayor Steven Choi wished the teams success.

After being introduced at the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon, the students started to give tours of their solar-powered houses. Come and visit our AIR House at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California on Thursday, Oct. 3–Sunday, Oct. 6 and Thursday, Oct. 10–Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 between 11.00 am and 7:00 p.m. Our team will love to give you a tour through our unique small and simple ecological house designed for the generation of our parents.
