Dalibor Hlaváček presents the AIR House

01/03/2013 - Our project became a finalist of the Wooden Building of the Year 2012 competition. The announcements took place on February 23 at a Wooden Buildings fair in the Industrial palace in Prague, Holešovice. The competition opinion poll is given annually by the Wood for Life foundation. The winners were chosen in a public vote and by a jury of professionals. Buildings and projects were introduced among the 84 contestants.
Finished wooden buildings, built in the Czech and Slovak Republics, competed in four categories – Wooden Construction, Modern Wooden Buildings, Timbered Houses and Wooden Playgrounds. The category of design, in which our team was successful, introduced the possibilities and potential of wooden buildings.
The winner of the Modern Wooden Houses category, a House Inspired by the Forest, was build by Dřevostavby Biskup s.r.o., a partner of our team that will provide the AIR HOUSE assembly. In April, in the company’s shops, under the direction of experienced carpenters the students will begin to assemble first wooden components of the AIR House.
